Abstract
The radiosensitivity of the ability of strain L mouse cells to form macroscopic colonies is independent of chromosome number in cell lines with mean chromosome numbers between 53 and 109 chromosomes. The radiosensitivity of L-cells is relatively low in comparison with values reported for other mammalian cell lines. A table of Do values, representing the dose to give 37% survival on the exponential portion of the survival curve, is presented. The effect of heteroploidy on the radiosensitivity of mammalian cells is discussed briefly.
