Hydrophobic environment of gable-type bisporphyrin receptors in water promotes binding of amines and oligopeptides

Abstract
The Lewis acidic site in a hydrophobic environment promoted binding of amines/oligopeptides efficiently: a binding constant of H-His-Leu-His-NHC10H7 to bisporphyrin was 9.4 × 105 M−1 in water at 25 °C.
