Abstract
The etiology of osteoporosis is unknown; prolonged Ca deficiency, castration, adrenal steroid hormones, debilitating disease, and sedentary life, accelerate, accentuate, or intensify the disorder in individuals who are predisposed to develop it. Exercise, Ca supplements, and sex hormones have placebo effects and impede the rate of loss of bone mass, but do not restore the normal density of the skeleton. Keywords
