Abstract
Upper and lower bounds are reported for correlation functions and cluster integrals occurring in the quantum statistical mechanics of dilute gases. This work is related to the Wigner—Kirkwood semiclassical approximation and may be used to extend the range of application of that approximation. A bound for the exchange second virial coefficient is presented. Numerical results are presented for a model of hydrogen vapor. Some analytical results for angle‐dependent potentials are derived. Keywords
