Inhibition of Hormonal Hypertension by Posterior Pituitary Extracts

Abstract
Previously, the authors reported that the daily subcut. admn. of 3 units of Pitressin to the rat inhibits the development of desoxycorticosterone (DCA) hypertension when given simultaneously, and reduces established DCA hypertension when given later. In this report, Pituitrin, but not pitocin, is shown to have the same effect. Compound F hypertension, which differs in several respects from that produced by DCA, is likewise inhibited by Pitressin and Pituitrin, but not by pitocin.
