Abstract
Using a simple stochastic model the kinetic theory of hot‐atom reactions is tested under conditions of high reactivity and nonconstant α values. The meaning of the derived kinetic parameters and their relation to the corresponding properties of the model are discussed. It is found that the kinetic‐theory parameters are unreliable if α varies within the hot reaction region. Keywords
