Extramedullary plasmacytoma associated with a Castleman's lesion of the cervical nodes

Abstract
A rare case of extramedullary plasmacytoma seen in a patient with a Castleman's lesion is described. The mass occurred in the cervical nodes of a 61‐year‐old female patient, and the primary site was the intra‐ or peri‐parotid nodes. The histological examination revealed abnormal characteristic lymph follicles and nodular proliferation of plasma cells in the same lymph nodes. The neoplastic change of plasma cells was studied on the basis of the immunoperoxidase (PAP) method. The patient is well without recurrence 15 months after total resection.
