Abstract
The transport coefficients of hard-sphere, soft-sphere, Lennard-Jones, and one-component-plasma systems are expressed in terms of the corresponding internal entropies, to reveal some universal characteristics. The transport of all the inverse nth-power repulsive potentials appears to be related, and can be numerically estimated by the hard-sphere model, although the hard-sphere transport is different. The entropy dependence of the coefficients of self-diffusion and (to a lesser extent) shear viscosity, for systems with purely repulsive potentials, is only slightly affected by the addition of an attractive potential.
