Two-dimensional stability of ion-acoustic solitons

Abstract
Two dimensional generalizations of the Korteweg-de Vries equation appropriate to the propagation of non-linear ion-acoustic waves are obtained. Soliton solutions are found to exist and they are shown to be stable to two dimensional perturbations.Keywords
