The Nature of the Cochlear Potentials in the Monkey

Abstract
Cochlear potentials were recorded in 6 rhesus monkeys and 1 green monkey in response to tones from 100 to 15,000 cycles. The functional relations to the stimuli are much like those of other mammals, except for smaller values of the maximums. In general the sensitivity of the monkey ear in terms of the cochlear potentials is below that of typical guinea pigs and cats, and correspondingly the ear is able to sustain greater sound intensities before showing distortion.
