Equilibria in Auto-Tetraploids under Natural Selection for a Simplified Model of Viabilities

Abstract

For a simplified model in auto-tetraploids, it is shown that a maximum of three non-trivial equilibria of which a maximum of two are stable can be found. The viabilities of the pairs of genotypes (AAAA, aaaa) and (AAAa, aaaA) were assumed equal and double reduction was ignored. More complex situations may lead to the possibility of more than three non-trivial equilibria.
