III.On the surface tensions of liquid crystals

Abstract
In this communication is described a method for the measurement of surface tension over a wide range of temperature, in which a furnace of simple design is used. The method, which does not demand the use of more than a few cubic millimetres of liquid is applied to the determination of the surface tensions of anisaldazine, p- azoxyanisol, and p-azoxyphenetol. The results obtained cover the region which contains the transition temperatures.
