Bacterial Growth Factors Related to Vitamin B12 and Folinic Acid in some Brown and Red Seaweeds.

Abstract
Algae of 2 classes, Phaeophyceae and Rhodophyceae, were examined for the presence of vit. B12, folic acid, and folinic acid, with the use of Lactobacillus, Leuconostoc, and Streptococcus strains for microbiological estimation. In Sphacelaria arctica, Laminaria saccharina, Fucus vesiculosus, Furcellaria fastigiata, Poly-siphonia nigrescens, and Rhodomela subfusca concns. of vit. B12 up to 1 [mu]g./gr. of dry weed were found.
