Abstract
A simple and reliable method for quantitation of hapto-globin is described. A known amount of hemoglobin in excess of the haptoglobin-binding capacity is added to serum, the mixture subjected to paper electrophoresis at pH 7.0, and the paper strip stained with a stable peroxidase stain (o-dianisidine). The hemoglobin-binding capacity is then determined by means of scanning the strip in a recording densitometer and integrator. Keywords
