Abstract
Placing the hot filament of an electron gun into one arm of a Wheatstone bridge the resistance and hence the temperature of the filament is kept constant, consequently reducing the electron beam current fluctuations. A complete circuit description is given and the performance of the gun with and without filament temperature regulation is discussed. Keywords
