Abstract
The loudness of white noise was determined by 2 methods which avoided comparisons of the noise with a standard reference tone (1000 cps). These methods were loudness-ratio determination, and 1-ear vs. 2 ear loudness matching. Results obtained were compared with results from the standard procedure and a fair internal consistency among the procedures was found. A scale of loudness for white noise is suggested. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
