Abstract
A case of rupture of a normal spleen caused by vomiting following a metrizamide myelogram [in a 32-yr old man] is presented. The pathological, clinical and radiological features are similar to those found in traumatic splenic rupture. It is important to be aware that the normal spleen can be ruptured by relatively minor trauma as delay in diagnosis and treatment result in high morbidity and mortality.
