Ni58(α,α′)Ni58and the Nature of High-Lying States inNi58

Abstract

We have studied levels in ${}_{}{}^{58}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ni}$ up to 10 MeV excitation energy through the ($\alpha ,{\alpha }^{\prime }$) reaction at 30 MeV and found surprising overall agreement between the observed spectra and those from $\alpha$-transfer reactions.
