Cold Agglutinins (Autohemagglutinins) in Primary Atypical Pneumonias

Abstract
A reversible autohemagglutinin (cold agglutinin) has been isolated from patients suffering from atypical pneumonia, in dilutions of 1:10 to over 1:10,000 at 0[degree]C. Maximum titre was usually obtained at or near the end of the febrile period. Control sera from cases of pneumococcus pneumonia showed no agglutinins over 1:4.
