Abstract
Summary 1. Bilateral cortical necrosis of the kidneys was observed in rabbits which were treated with large doses of cortisone and then given a single intravenous injection of meningococcal or S. marcescens (P-25) toxin. This lesion did not occur when animals were given injections of cortisone alone, or toxin alone. 2. A similar renal lesion occurred in cortisone-treated Syrian Hamsters following an intraperitoneal injection of P-25 toxin. Keywords
