Abstract
5-Hydroxytryptophan given to rats in a dose of 300 mg/kg produced hemorrhagic mucosal erosions in the glandular portion of the stomach. When atropine sulfate was injected prior to 5-hydroxytryptophan administration, the lesions were decreased in number or their occurrence prevented. Administration of reserpine also produced similar lesions which were delayed in appearance. Keywords
