Abstract
We have performed a comprehensive finite element analysis of the diamond anvil cell. Our analysis shows how beveled diamonds and material properties of the gasket affect diamond anvil cell performance. Using the results of the analysis, we have achieved 4.6 Mbar experimentally, which is the highest static pressure reported to date. Possible methods to increase the pressure further are discussed. Keywords
