Angular correlations in the beta-delayed two-proton decay ofAl22

Abstract
Position-sensitive detectors have been used to measure the angular correlation of the two protons de-exciting the 4+, T=2 isobaric analog state in Mg22 fed in the β+ decay of Al22. The observed isotropy indicates a predominantly sequential decay mechanism. However, a 15% admixture of correlated di-proton (He2) emission cannot be excluded.
