Propagation of Magnetostatic Spin Waves at Microwave Frequencies. II. Rods

Abstract
The theoretical transit time is derived for propagation of magneto static spin waves in a rod magnetized either along the axis or transversely to the axis. The group velocity for these waves in an infinite cylinder is combined with the inhomogeneous internal field of a rod to compute the time delay of a wave packet. Experimental observations of microwave pulse delay time in rods of yttrium iron garnet are compared with these theoretical results.
