Abstract
The amt. of insulin required to maintain a normal blood sugar in completely depancreatized fasting dogs was studied at intervals over a period of ten mos. post-operatively. The insulin requirement varied between 0.0051 and 0.035 units per kilo per hr. in different animals but was very constant for individual animals. The av. of all animals was 0.0169 units/kilo/hr.
