Abstract
The effects of large doses of testosterone propionate on advanced carcinoma of the female breast were studied in a series of 11 cases. Remarkable improvement was shown in 4 cases as evidenced by regression of the primary lesion and metastases in one case, and an increase in calcification in areas of osseous metastasis in the other 3 cases. Coincident with the osteoblastic changes was the disappearance of pain. 4 patients did not respond to therapy, and 3 others are still under treatment. The authors feel that large doses of testosterone propionate may, in certain instances, exert a favorable influence on advanced carcinoma of the 9 breast. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
