Abstract
The case is presented of a 78-year-old Caucasian man with symptoms of esophageal obstruction of apparently 4 months'' duration, who died after the development of a posterior mediastinal abscess and confluent bronchopneumonia. At autopsy an esophageal gland adenocarcinoma arising in the middle 3rd of the esophagus was found which had invaded surrounding structures and had metastasized to the tracheo-bronchial and gastric lymph nodes. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
