Abstract
Three types of dextran sulfate were prepared with intrinsic viscosities of 0.36, 0.12, 0.02. The last only (corresponding to a molecular wt. of less than 20,000) was non-toxic. With anticoagulants varying in amts. of sulfonation, max. activity for sheep plasma was achieved with > 1.3 sulfate groups per glucose unit. A potentially useful anticoagulant drug is descr. Keywords
