Abstract
The Ordovician encrinurid trilobites Cybeloides girvanensis (Reed) and C. loveni (Linnarsson), formerly assigned to the genus Paracybeloides, are redescribed. Specimens of Cybeloides from several British localities are identified with the former species. A teratological pygidium of C. loveni is noted. It is suggested that the development of spines in these species was, at least partly, an adaptation for attaining a concealed position.
