Abstract
Palitantin, C14H22O4, is formed on Raulin-Thom medium by the type strain of P palitans Westling, and by 3 strains of the same species isolated from certain discolorations in New Zealand Cheddar cheese. Various derivatives and reduction and oxidation products of palitantin are described. Palitantin is an unsaturated dihydroxyaldehyde of unsettled molecular constitution. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
