Abstract
Motility and pH deter-minations were made simultaneously on both stomach and duo-denum in 7 patients with duodenal ulcer. In 4 patients typical ulcer pain was produced by introducing [image]/10 HCl via duodenal tube. There was no change in duodenal motility. Four anti-cholinergic drugs inhibited duodenal motility but did not affect ulcer pain. Ulcer pain did not occur unless duodenal pH fell to 1.65.Keywords
