Abstract
THIS paper is a report of a study of certain back injuries having to do with ruptured intervertebral disks, as well as the compressive radiculitis in the same area, that were admitted to the neurosurgical service of the Boston City Hospital during the seventeen years between 1937 and 1955. It is a summary of the clinical aspects of the problems and neither includes any patients with bony vertebral injuries nor any follow-up except immediate postoperative or post-hospitalization end results.
