Abstract
Measurements of the density operator and the probability for production are reported for hydrogen atoms produced by passing 20 to 1000 keV protons through thin carbon targets. Measurements of the dependence of production on the number of protons in the incident projectile and on the time this proton cluster spends within the foil are also discussed.
