Abstract
The infra‐red absorption spectra from 2 to 15μ of ethylene, propylene, 1‐butene, cis−2‐butene, trans−2‐butene, isobutene, and 2‐methyl−2‐butene in the vapor state have been obtained. Features common to all the spectra are discussed and their aid in determining the structure of new compounds is pointed out. The fundamental frequencies and vibrational assignments of ethylene and propylene are discussed. Keywords
