During an 11-month period, 11 cases of viral hepatitis were recognized in personnel of a hospital in Miami Beach, Fla. Epidemiologic evidence suggested that a single hemodialysis patient, an asymptomatic carrier of hepatitis B antigen, was the source of hepatitis virus for ten of the 11 cases.
