Bilateral Anterior Tibial Claudication

Abstract
Fasciotomy relieved symptoms of claudication in both anterior tibial muscle compartments in two otherwise healthy adolescent patients. Effective blood flow in the muscles before surgery, measured with sodium chloride Na 22 clearance, was impaired after the patients had exercised, while intramuscular pressures in the anterior tibial compartments, measured by saline manometry, remained elevated for a longer than normal time following exercise. These results were compared with those found in two previously reported cases in which the patients were tested in this way.
