Abstract
A microwave network approach is employed for the description and analysis of leaky-wave antennas. This approach is based on a transverse resonance procedure which yields the complex propagation constants for the leaky waves. A perturbation technique is then applied to the resonance equation to obtain results in simple and practical form. These procedures are illustrated by application to a number of practical leaky rectangular waveguide structures. Very good agreement is obtained between the theoretical results and the measured values. Keywords
