Abstract
The composition of the seed of the Broad Bean (Vicia faba) has been investigated and the results of alternative analytical methods compared. The seeds used in the present work were higher in nitrogen and phosphorus and lower in structural carbohydrate, magnesium and calcium than the seeds used in previous German analytical work. Such differences are attributed to difference of variety and of conditions of maturation of the seed.
