Very LongHe3Nuclear Relaxation Times at 4 K Using Cryogenic Coatings

Abstract
Longitudinal He3 nuclear relaxation times at low temperature have been measured by an optical-pumping technique, using solid H2 coatings on the cell walls. Relaxation times longer than 2 days at 4.2 K were obtained with a 3-cm-diam cell. Preliminary results with other coatings (solid D2, Ne, etc.) are reported.
