Abstract
A modulation technique has been used for the production of atoms and the absolute values of the rate constants at 25.0 ± 0.5°C for their reactions with ethylene, propylene, butene‐1, and isobutene have been determined from phase shift measurements. The values obtained are fully consistent with the relative rate constants determined earlier and also show excellent agreement with some absolute values in the literature. A value for the rate constant of the reaction of atoms with NO has also been obtained.
