Abstract
The frequency- and wavevector-dependent transverse magnetic spin susceptibility matrix chi st( rho , omega ) for a ferromagnet is studied at T=0K within the local exchange (or X alpha ) approximation. General formulae are obtained for a system of Bloch electrons. It is shown that spin waves are obtained as elementary excitations. Applications are made to the model of a ferromagnetic electron gas. Keywords
