Abstract
As part of an over-all study on chromosome changes in viral leukemogenesis, we investigated these alterations in Friend and Rauscher virus leukemia. An increased incidence of secondary constrictions was coincident with the early preleukemic period of splenic hyperplasia. The chromosome number was 40, with minimal variation about the diploid mode during this period. The late leukemic period was characterized by an increase in chromosome number and incidence of aberrations. An inverse relationship between hyperdiploidy and the incidence of distinct multiple secondary constrictions was observed. Keywords
