Abstract
.[long dash]The term thalassiomycetes is proposed to apply broadly to fungi isolated from marine habitats. It is defined ecologically. The species isolated from these areas are, with very few exceptions, unknown from either fresh-water- or terrestrial environments. There is still too little knowledge of the physiology of the marine forms (particularly as regards salinity tolerance) to permit employment of such criteria to separate or define them. Described in this paper is a new monotypic genus belonging to the Deuteromycetes: NIA vibrissa. It is the 2d reported thalassic imperfect with conidia adapted to the aquatic environment. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
