Neurological Aspects of Vasopressin Release and the Syndrome of Inappropriate Secretion of Antidiuretic Hormone

Abstract

The history and pharmacology of vasopressin release are reviewed. Physiological mechanisms for such release are discussed, and the syndrome of inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone (SIADH) is reviewed in detail. Finally, SIADH is discussed as it applies to neurological conditions.
