Anencephaly in One of Monozygous Twins

Abstract
A case is presented of monozygous twins one of whom was anencephalic while the other was apparently normal and is alive and well at 3 months of age. The placenta was monochorionic diamniotic and injection studies showed free anastomosis between the 2 halves of the placenta. The possible significance of this is discussed.
