The plastic deformation behaviour of long-range ordered iron-aluminium alloys

Abstract
The deformation scheme proposed in Part I to account for the multiple linear hardening stage behaviour of long-range ordered iron aluminium alloys has been confirmed by direct transmission electron microscopical observations of superlattice dislocations of the predicted type. Observations of the dislocation sub-structure produced by deformation of single crystals under various conditions are presented, together with a discussion of the properties of said sub-structure and their effect upon the hardening rates of the alloys.
