Abstract
The behavior of the motor activity was investigated in a selected group of neurosurgical patients with diverse cerebral and spinal lesions, and in a group of healthy controls. Under standard conditions the EMG (electromyograms) were simultaneously recorded from 6 muscles, and the time-voltage integral of the muscle action potentials were continuously recorded. The behavior of the motor activity in the decerebrate state and its sequelae [apallic syndrome bulbar syndrome] is described.
