Abstract
Leptospiral antigen was demonstrated with the fluorescent antibody technique in the muscle lesions of a patient with proven Leptospira icterohemorrhagiae infection. This observation indicates that the muscle lesions in Weil''s disease are produced by the leptospirae. Human polymorphonuclear leucocytes stain non-specifically with the fluorescent antibody technique. The non-specific staining of these cells can be suppressed by absorption of the conjugate with rabbit bone marrow powder.
