Theoretical studies of Si(111) surface structures

Abstract

A brief discussion of the 1×1, 2×1, and 7×7 reconstructed surfaces of Si(111) is given. The emphasis is on surface atomic geometry and its effect on electronic and chemical properties of the surface.
