BEHAVIOR OF STOMATA OF IRRIGATED WHEAT PLANTS

Abstract
The behavior of stomata of irrigated wheat plants was studied to determine whether changes in stomatal movements might be used as an index of the time of acute necessity for irrigation. The authors believe that the degree of opening of the stomata may serve as an index of the amt. of water available to the plant, and that data may be obtained for working out a definite schedule for the irrigation of wheat.
